Marlborough is known in New Zealand as the wine country but it is also home to beautiful coastal waterways, peninsulas, islands, and fjords which are called "sounds" there. It is a lovely place that has bitten me.
Many people have told me that the South Island is beautiful so I was quite expecting it really and I can only agree to it. However, I have only managed to see a part of Marlborough and Canterbury and I am aching to see more of the island! I need to drag the Dutchman here in the very near future.

Picton in the distance is a small town in the northernmost part of South Island. All ferries from Wellington goes to Picton.
Moi on the ferry as we were about to dock in Picton. Wellington = Picton and vice versa ferries go every day and frequently during the summer months.
Views from the waterfront boulevard in Picton.
Fresh fish on offer in Picton.
We all had fish for lunch. Myrhh had a salmon salad, SisterJ some fish and chips and I had delicious jumbo shrimps in coconut and lemon jus. This was very delicious.
In Marlborough, we camped at this farm near the woods. The green one in the middle is our humble campervan.
The northern part of Marlborough region has many waterways, channels, and islands.
The farm camp we stayed at of course has animals. These are just a few of the friendly residents in the farm.
We did a walk in the forest one evening to search for the small waterfalls and glow (in the dark) worms. It was definitely an adventure!
Breakfast in the campgrounds.
This is the Cullen Point near Havelock. The drive from Picton to Havelock is very zigzagged on high cliff roads. Our farm camp was located between the two towns.
We are now entering the Blenheim in the Marlborough wine country here.
Moi enjoying my rose wine at Wither Hills Restaurant and Winery. We had some wine tasting here and then had lunch.
This was a lunch we cannot forget. Super delicious. The wines were also great. Plus the views were just perfect. I have to say this stop and lunch is easily a favourite.
