On Wednesday, November 1, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima received a dozen Dutch people at Noordeinde Palace for an in-depth conversation about the letters they previously wrote to the King or Queen Maxima. The members of the Royal House receive more than ten thousand letters every year. These are all handled and stored with the intervention of the King's Office and the Royal Household Service.
By entering into discussions with a number of the letter writers, the King and Queen wanted to listen to people's concerns and discuss with them further about the possibilities they see to strengthen the Dutch society. The guests were chosen among those who show commitment to a wide variety of themes, such as solidarity, social security, housing and climate.
