Queen Elizabeth opened the new Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge

On July 9, 2019, Queen Elizabeth visited Cambridge city. The Queen firstly visited NIAB (The National Institute of Agricultural Botany) and planted a tree there. NIAB is a plant science research company based in Cambridge. The Queen then visited Queen’s College. Afterwards, The Queen officially opened the new Royal Papworth Hospital, accompanied by The Duchess of Gloucester. During her visit to the new hospital, The Queen met with staff and patients and in addition, she saw some of the state-of-the-art facilities at the world-leading heart and lung hospital.
