(Toggle) Following the conclusion of the 29th Golden Melody Awards, which aired on Saturday (June 23), Taiwanese singer A-Mei did a live stream session to share her thoughts about the awards show.
A-Mei was nominated in six different categories for her album Story Thief, including Album of the Year and Best Female Vocalist. However, while the director of the music video for her song ‘Left Behind’, Lo Ging Zim, won the Best Music Video award, she walked away empty-handed after the show.
The singer also shared that the Golden Melody Awards is just like a party to her.
Although she has been nominated 14 times, she has only three awards under her belt. However, she feels that it is thrilling all the same, even if she doesn’t win. Furthermore, this year’s Best Female Vocalist winner, Taiwanese singer Lala Hsu, is truly deserving of the accolade, according to the singer.
A-Mei also made sure to thank all the fans who’ve supported her thus far, and expressed her happiness at being able to try out different styles and genres of music. The songstress added that she considers herself lucky to “not have been thrown aside by the passing of generations”, admitting that she has “always needed the acknowledgement from a Golden Melody Awards nod”.
