As patron of the Christmas Seal Foundation, Crown Princess Mary participated in the presentation of Christmas Seal 2023 at Copenhagen City Hall. The 2023 Christmas seal was designed by author and artist Lisa Grue. Julemærkefonden is a Danish charity running five so-called Christmas Seal homes that provide service for vulnerable children.
Among guests were also Count Ingolf of Rosenborg and his wife Countess Sussie of Rosenborg, who are patrons of Julemærkemarch (Chiristmas Stamp March), as well as the ambassadors of Julemærkehjemmenes (Christmas Stamp Homes).
The Christmas Seal is issued annually by the Foundation for the purpose of financing its services. Once a year since the year of 1904, the Foundation has issued the special seal in order to raise money for children residing at one of Denmark's five Christmas Stamp Homes.
