On September 24, 2020, The Countess of Wessex visited Coverwood Farm in Cranleigh, as patron of The Association of Show and Agricultural Organisations. The Association of Show and Agricultural Organisations (ASAO) represents the UK’s many agricultural, horticultural, equine and countryside organisations.
The purpose of the visit was to receive information about the current situation of local food production, the challenges faced by farmers as a result of the pandemic, and the opportunities facing farmers and food producers when they work to meet the growing interest in supporting and buying local and sustainably produced food.
On September 23, 2020, The Countess of Wessex volunteered at the newly opened DEBRA store in Martins Heron to support individuals and families living with the skin condition Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), which causes the skin to blister and tear at the slightest touch.
DEBRA is the national charity with head quarters located in Bracknell Berkshire supporting people suffering from Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a potentially fatal genetic skin condition that causes constant pain due to unstoppable internal and external blistering. The Countess of Wessex is Patron of DEBRA.
