Prince Charles of Luxembourg was christened in Clervaux Abbey

On September 19, 2020, the son of Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie, Prince Charles of Luxembourg, was christened in Clervaux Abbey. Most of the Grand Ducal family attended the christening. Prince Charles Jean Philippe Joseph Marie Guillaume was born on May 10, 2020 and is second in line to the throne of the Grand Duchy, after his father, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume.

Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich and Father Dom Michel Jorrot welcomed the Grand Ducal family at 2.30 pm. Afterwards, the official ceremony began at 3 pm. The christening was conducted by Hollerich and Jorrot, as well as Leo Wagener and Fernand Frank.

Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa were also present at the ceremony. Prince Felix, his wife Princess Claire and their two children Prince Liam and Princess Amalia, Prince Louis and Prince Sébastien also attended.

Count Jehan de Lannoy, his wife and their children, Count Christian de Lannoy, his wife and their children, Madame John Hamilton (née countess Nathalie de Lannoy), Countess Gaëlle de Lannoy, Count Amaury de Lannoy and his wife, Count Olivier de Lannoy and his wife and their children, Jean-Charles de le Court and Countess Isabelle de Lannoy and their children were among the invitees.

Countess Gaëlle de Lannoy, sister of Princess Stéphanie, became the godmother of Prince Charles. Prince Louis, Prince Guillaume's brother, became the godfather.

During the christening, the Prince wore the original christening gown of the Nassau family, which was also used for the christenings of Grand Duke Henri, Princess Marie-Astrid, Prince Jean, and Prince Guillaume.
