| On December 9, 2019, Queen Silvia and Princess Madeleine of Sweden attended the award ceremony for the first Childhood Award. In 2019, Childhood Foundation celebrates its 20th anniversary. The highlight of the year 2019 is the establishment of the Childhood Award which is an annual prize that will be handed out to the unsung heroes in Sweden who dedicate their lives to protecting children from violence and sexual abuse, but are seldom recognized for their contributions.
