Queen Letizia visited the National Library of Spain in Madrid

On July 30, Queen Letizia visited the "María Moliner" and "Larra" Rooms of the National Library of Spain in Madrid. The National Library (Biblioteca Nacional de España) has a massive collection of over 26 million items, which includes 15 million books, 30,000 manuscripts, as well as music scores, newspapers and more. The Library receives and preserves copies of all books published in Spain. In addition, it contains a valuable collection of incunabula, manuscripts, drawings, photographs, sound recordings, scores. Over the past few years, the National Library has been producing digital versions of the books and documents for the purpose of facilitating access to them.
