| On May 5, 2019, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima attended the Liberation Day concert held in Amsterdam as part of National Liberation Day celebrations. The concert traditionally takes place in front of Carré Royal Theatre and around Amstel River. Liberation Day (Bevrijdingsdag) is celebrated in the Netherlands on May 5, the day after Remembrance Day. It commemorates the end of the Nazi occupation during the Second World War.
