On February 22, 2019, Queen Elizabeth II, Patron, The Royal Army Chaplains' Department (AChD), attended a service to celebrate the centenary of when King George V granted the prefix 'Royal' to the department. The service was held at The Guards’ Chapel, Wellington Barracks. The Queen’s grandfather, King George V, bestowed their Royal title in recognition of its outstanding service and sacrifice during the First World War 200 years ago today. AChD was formed by Royal Warrant of 23 September 1796. |
