The Countess of Wessex attended a commemorative service at St Martin-in-the-Fields Church

On November 6, 2018, The Countess of Wessex attended a commemorative service at St Martin-in-the-Fields Church, held in honour of police officers who died in London in the First World War. During the World War 1, more than 4,000 police officers were either re-called or volunteered for the military, while 18,000 served as London's first line in defence. In the conflict, 360 police officers were killed in action.
