Danish Crown Princess Mary visited Kalama in Kenya

On November 27, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark visited Kalama in Kenya, together with Danish Minister for Development Cooperation, Ulla Tøernæs. Crown Princess Mary and Minister Ulla Toernaes arrived at the Kalama Airstrip in Samburu Country on November 27th and were greeted by prominent members of the Kalama societies. Hereafter they visited the Kalama Conservancy where they met with local women who have benefited from Danish support to create small sustainable businesses. The whole visit has as a special focus the promotion of women's rights and economic independence through local projects. The trip was focused on promoting the importance of sexual and reproductive health of women and girls in the region.
