(Toggle) Fans have been waiting with bated breath for the annual Golden Horse Awards, which will take place this Saturday (November 17), to announce their headliners for the glitzy event.

Earlier this month, it was announced that A-listers Kara Hui, Shu Qi, Carina Lau, Chang Chen, Gwei Lun-mei, Hu Ge, Sammo Hung, Vivian Hsu and Jeannie Hsieh will be gracing the event. Yesterday, the last ‘special guest’ for the ceremony was announced — Andy Lau, to the delight of the fans of the actor.

As a two time Golden Horse Awards ‘Best Actor’ winner, Andy is no stranger to the awards ceremony. Despite his packed schedule, he made arrangements to fly out to Taiwan specially to attend it as an award presenter.

Andy used to be a frequent face on the Golden Horse Awards red carpet, with his every action attracting attention from the media and general public. However, the last time he attended the annual awards ceremony was in 2013, due to his busy schedule. Thus, his upcoming appearance at this year’s edition of the awards ceremony will mark his ‘comeback' to the event, upping the ante for his appearance.

In other related news, the Golden Horse Film Festival kicked off last Thursday (November 8), with a number of celebrities and directors walking the red carpet on Monday night (November 12). The movie Dear Ex, had garnered a total of eight nominations in categories such as Best Film, Best Actor and Best Actress. As a result, when the main cast members, Roy Chiu, Hsieh Ying-hsuan, Spark Chen, Joseph Huang as well as director Mag Hsu walked the red carpet, all eyes were on them.
