| On October 2, 2018, King Carl Gustaf and Crown Princess Victoria attended the opening of Kyrkomötet 2018 in Uppsala. Church Council meeting which is the highest decision-making body of the Swedish Church began with a service at Uppsala Cathedral under the chairmanship of Bishop Mikael Mogren. The General Synod is the Church of Sweden's largest decision-making body and it consists of 251 members from throughout Sweden. The Church of Sweden is Sweden's largest member organisation and it has 6.3 million members. The General Synod is elected by the church's members. |
