| On May, 8, 2018, Queen Letizia of Spain attended World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day 2018 events held in Santiago de Compostela city of Galicia this year. During the ceremony, Queen Letizia presented Gold Medals of Spanish Red Cross to humanitarian aid organizations that made contributions to social cohesion and social solidarity activities. World Red Cross Red Crescent Day is celebrated on May 8 every year. This date is anniversary of the birth of Henry Dunant who was born May 8, 1828 and is the founder of International Committee of the Red Cross. |
