Morning ladies for this month's Marks & Spencer post I thought it would be perfect timing to talk Valentine's day, after all it's only 10 days to the day we all declare our undying love for our partners & perhaps show them through a small (or large) gesture just how much they mean to us. And where better to look for gift inspiration than Marks who not only will be doing another fabulous Dine In meal deal, which is not only brilliant value but perfect for anyone whose other half is not quite up to Jamie Oliver standard. Plus let's face it, with Valentine's Day falling mid week this year & with work the next day no one really wants to be slaving over a hot oven do they?!
As you can see from the images above I've put together my top picks for the perfect Valentine's Day treats. Whether it be a cosy cashmere knit in the perfect shade to take us into Spring, to a simple bottle of chocolates or bouquet of flowers. I'd be delighted to receive each & every one of these gifts (hint, hint hubby if you're reading ;-) ).
I know some people refuse to celebrate Valentine's Day believing it to be too commercial but personal I love the idea of a day where you all make that little bit of effort to show your partner why you love them & thank them for all the times they do those little things, which may not mean much to anybody else but to you mean the world. In fact I also always send a Valentine's card with a small gift to our son. If you're the same & have a loved one, be it child at university or perhaps a partner who works away from home in the week then this is just genius - a brilliant small token to send through the post & such a fab idea. In fact I'm quite tempted to send myself one! Or on a similar vein but for sharing then again this Secret Admirer's Gift Box would be ideal for sharing over dinner.
Whilst looking for gift inspiration I also stumbled across something which may prove to be a great find, especially if you love candles as much as me & perhaps have some of the larger 3 wick candles from some of the well known brands. I'm thinking this candle could be perfect for refilling the glass holder once burnt out instead of renewing the whole thing :-)
Now if you're not into Valentine gifts but want to acknowledge Valentine's Day or perhaps thinking about incorporating more colour into your wardrobe then I also thought I'd share some outfit suggestions of how I'd suggest styling a splash of red.
Starting with a simple look that's perfect for the school run or a day of doing. I'm personally absolutely loving the boxy fit of the cream funnel neck jumper, which is also available in a stripe version here.
Moving onto a more smarter look now with an outfit that would be perfect for the office, which incorporates items that could also easily be dressed down for weekend wear.
Then for anyone that's being taken out this Valentine's evening what about the above outfit. The satin maxi skirt looks stunning & could so easily be styled different ways for many an occasion.
Back to something a little more casual with these flannel trousers, a simple breton & a stunning red blazer.
And finally for the ultimate evening out look you're never going to go wrong with cropped trousers & a statement top.
I've picked a couple of new in pieces to add to my wardrobe this month, firstly this asymmetric wrap midi skirt. Which I think will be a great everyday all rounder & bring a bit more of an edgy feel when teamed with my biker & trainers. I must admit I had high hopes for the fit & style of the skirt & it didn't disappoint when it arrived. Not too short in length, as can sometimes be the case with midis & true to size in fit.

The second item I've picked are these stunning red kitten heel ankle boots - thought I'd take my own advice add a pop of colour to more of my outfits ;-) & after the success my navy velvet & black ankle boots I'm hoping these babies will prove just as useful. Again in terms of fit these also seem true to size.
In fact I'm wearing both my new additions today.
