A romance shot in Antarctica released in China

(China Plus) A romance film shot in Antarctica and directed by a member of China's 27th and 28th Antarctic expeditions hits Chinese theatres this Friday.

In this new film, 'Till the End of the World', actor Mark Chao and actress Yang Zishan potray a pair of lovers brought together by a calamity. The film re-unites the two co-stars again following their 2013 film So Young.

Yang Zishan explains the reason why she agreed to play a self-contained female scientist Ruyi in this film.

"Wu Fuchun and Ruyi are caught in a snow storm for 75 days. At the start of the film, they despise each other, but eventually when they are confined in that desperate situation, they begin to care and love each other such that they even want to sacrifice their own life for the other to survive. It's the level of deep love that touched me the most."

Based on the novel of the same name by Wu Youyin, the film also features Taiwan singer Angela Zhang who sings the promotional soundtrack – a song that expresses the true emotion of being constantly at each other's side when catastrophe strikes.

Mark Chao plays an arrogant millionaire, the scientist's love partner. Chao rose to fame in China for his moving portrayal of Yehua in "Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms,"- one of the highest-rated TV dramas in China in recent years.
