| Today is January 20 and Queen Mathilde celebrates her 45th birthday!. As the daughter of Count and Countess Patrick d'Udekem d'Acoz, Mathilde was born into nobility. She met Prince Philippe while playing tennis in 1996 and they married three years later. The Queen is concerned with a range of social issues including education, child poverty, intergenerational poverty, the position of women in society and literacy.
