(Toggle) Andy Lau has given his fans plenty to anticipate this year with his announcement that he will be embarking on a brand new concert tour. His first stop will be in Hong Kong, and he will have more than one show as he shared through an official statement that he will not only hold a concert on Christmas Day, but also on December 31.
The statement, which was uploaded on his official page, Andy World Club, Focus Group’s page and JSM SHOW’s site, read “For the first time in seven years, Andy Lau will be returning to Hong Kong for a concert (…) there will also be shows to be held in the mainland in 2019.”
“Upon hearing that we received the approval for his Hong Kong shows, Andy was extremely happy and will be earnestly starting preparations for the concert soon,” it continued.
Following Andy’s accident while filming a commercial in Thailand last year, many fans have been concerned about his health and when he would be able to promote as actively as before. As a result of the accident, he also had to cancel 20 year-end concerts in order to recuperate.
Andy’s label also took the opportunity to address speculation about his tour dates with the statement.
They wrote, “Andy’s fans all over the world have been anticipating news about his new tour, and there have also been rumours about certain cities, dates and ticketing information circulating. We’d like to take the chance to say that we hope that fans will not misunderstand or be misinformed with these unfounded speculation. All information will be updated on the official sites when they are confirmed.”
