Luxury couture brand NE TIGER kicked off China Fashion Week in Beijing on Sunday.
The show took place in the Banqueting Hall of the Beijing Hotel.
The collection featured floor-length silk and chiffon gowns with complex embroidery and lace detail, blending styles of Western haute couture with Eastern sensibilities. Metallic silver, gold and copper were much in evidence, along with scarlet and regal purple.
Founder and artistic director of NE TIGER Zhang Zhifeng was nicknamed 'Little Tiger' as a child. He created the luxury brand in 1982 to produce "noble, elegant and sexy" designs, and to be a "defender and inheritor of Chinese clothing culture."
Celebrity fans of the brand include Gong Li, Andie MacDowell, Zhang Ziyi and Fan Bingbing.
China Fashion Week was established in 1997, and is held twice a year in Beijing. The event has become a high-profile platform for fashion design, ready-to-wear, accessories, styling and other new designs and technologies in China.
The event, which runs until November 7, features local brands and designers displaying their 2018 spring/summer collections.
