Eason Chan’s voice betrays him on Sing!China 2

(Toggle) As the new addition to the judges panel on Chinese singing programme Sing!China 2, Hong Kong singer Eason Chan was given a task by his fellow judge, Chinese singer Na Ying on the latest episode of the show – to pretend to be a contestant, and experience how it feels like to have the judges not turn around for him.

Eason accepted the task, and chose to perform his own song, ‘Ten Years’. Alas, the 42-year-old’s voice faltered from the start, going off-tune from the very first verse, to peals of laughter from fellow judges Jay Chou and Liu Huan.

But, Eason managed to keep his wits around him, and he continued on to sing the chorus perfectly, with Jay, followed by Na Ying and Liu Huan rushing down to choose him.

After the song ended, Eason continued to joke around by introducing himself as “12-year-old Chen Er Meng.”

Later he shared that he did feel a little nervous standing on stage, and that he empathised with all the contestants now.
