Dressing Up In Separates + WIWT - Blue & Green

Morning ladies after my previous post featuring dresses to wear for special occasions (see here), as promised today we're looking at separates.  Pieces that if you're not a dress wearer or likely to have another event that calls for a more dressier outfit will mean you can dress down for everyday by pairing with existing items to maximise the cost per wear & get your full monies worth.

I've put together an edit of the best separates currently on the high street & as always just click on any particular item for further details.

And whilst you might think that some of the skirts featured may be too much for a normal day - just imagine them dressed down with a simple crew neck jumper/'V' neck tee, trainers & a biker/denim jacket & you really can make them fit your lifestyle.  The same goes for the trousers & culottes featured & of course all of the tops would look stunning worn with a simple pair of jeans & flat sandals or paired with heels for a night out.

I'm still debating which way to go for Ladies Day - a dress is so easy & means you only have to worry about your accessories whereas separates will certainly get more wear & you'd have to be really unlucky to see anyone in the same combination!  Decisions, decisions & not long to go to decide!

Although not a decision I have to decide on today so I'm throwing together some blues with a pair of skinny cropped green trousers that I grabbed in the sales.

So ladies anyone have a particular preference?  Are you a dress wearer for special events & if it doesn't get much wear afterwards you'll make the decision to cut your losses & re-sell on?  Or are you someone who likes to get their monies worth so will only buy a dress they can definitely re-wear or failing that go for separates that can be worked a different way?  Perhaps you've got a special occasion coming up & needing inspiration or maybe you've already got your outfit sorted.

As always I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Happy 'hump' day lovelies - only 2 more sleeps until the weekend whoop whoop :-)

Enjoy your day & I'll be back as always tomorrow.
