(CRI) Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and Oscar-nominated musical "La La Land" will arrive in Chinese theaters just in time to help the love birds here celebrate.
The acclaimed film starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling has been making the rounds this award season. At the Golden Globes earlier this year, it led the nomination list with seven nods and won all of them, setting a record for the most awards at the Globes for a single film. Awards received by the film included Best Picture, Director, Actor and Actress.
It is also tying an Oscar record with 14 nominations this year, including those in the Best Picture, Director, Actor and Actress categories.
The film from director Damien Chazelle tells the love story of two aspiring artists as they seek to find love and the spotlight in modern day Los Angeles.
"La La Land" reportedly had a budget of 30 million US dollars, but since its US release last Christmas, it has raked in a whopping 118 million dollars at the US box office.
The film will open across China on Valentine's Day, while select theaters have already begun previews.
