Jackie Chan walks Oscars red carpet with toy pandas

(Toggle) Hong Kong martial arts actor Jackie Chan graced the red carpet of the Oscar awards earlier today, along with two stuffed pandas which he called his “two baby boys.”

He said in an interview with the red carpet host Ryan Seacrest, “I’m the panda ambassador, I raised two pandas in China after they got injured during the Sichuan earthquake.” The actor also shared that he had the two stuffed toys made to represent his adoptees so that he can bring them around the world when he travels and “they can meet all the celebrities” that he meets too.

Other than being the proud adopter of two pandas, Jackie has also been the UNICEF goodwill ambassador since 2004. He was even part of the production of movie series Kungfu Panda as he voiced the character Monkey.

The 62 year-old actor became the very first Chinese actor to receive a Honourary Oscar award at the Governors awards last year. He was awarded for his contribution to the film industry during the past 56 years of film-making, and for causing the rise in popularity for action-comedy movies in particular.
