An open letter to the citizens of India, penned by Divya Khosla Kumar, just another 'Aam Aadmi'

India, Bharat & Hindustan are just some of the names we have given our

beloved country over centuries, but several refer to it with pride as
Sone Ki Chidiya. Culture, values, principles and wealth are some of
the standout characteristics India possesses and rightly so. To
preserve and protect and to nurture and enhance, are only some of the
promises we have made as Indians towards our country and the first
step towards achieving this was to elect a standout, mastermind and
confident leader thus introducing, Narendra Modiji. He won our hearts
with his words and struck gold with his revolutionary actions thereby
soldifying his place as one of the most dynamic Prime Ministers our
country has witnessed.
Many a times I think to myself, Why are we touted as a third world
country? Why can we not progress in light of the technology and
awareness of the 21st century? But, as I go deeper in thought, it is
because of us that this was the scenario. In the past we have given
way and allowed the British Raj to loot us & our country with one
dynamic leader who paved the way to freedom and gave us back our
rights - Mahatma Gandhiji. As fate would have it, history repeated
itself, this time in the form of a certain political party no
different than the Britishers who looted the citizens of their own
country time and time again. However, this time round, one man stood
up and voiced his opinion over others and saved us from the so-called
“Raj”, and we elected him PM. Bribes and corruption had become a part
and parcel of our everyday lives, disparity between the elite and the
poor grew further and exploitation was a method followed by all and
sundry. To eradicate this all and make India a healthy, clean and more
importantly a first world country, Modiji is one of the few who had
the confidence in his government and faith in his citizens to take the
drastic step and fight against such vested interests. We call
ourselves ‘Proud Indians’, we eat the food that is grown on our land
and live on the soil of our descendants, so are we not supposed to
give back too? Are you and I, not supposed to stand up against the
wrong and support our Prime Minister elect? There are 2 kinds of
soldiers who fight for their country, some who fight at the border
against all those who try to encroach on our land and some who fight
from the confines of their home against all those who try to encroach
on their rights.
Demonetizing certain denominations of the Indian currency is a
difficult scenario to face but are we supposed to possess black money
in the first place? A few days or even months of facing difficulties
is hardly a price to pay to clean up all the filth present in the
country.Sit back and think over it, introspect and you will realize.
We as Aam Aadmi, many a times sit at home and point fingers at what is
going wrong in the country and the government’s ruling but rarely do
we actually lift that finger and make a move to change the wrong.
There are several powerful people and politicians lobbying to bring
down this masterstroke by our PM, my PM, who are titling themselves as
the Aad Aadmi.
With pride in my heart and an ardent follower and supporter of my
Prime Minister, I proudly call myself an Aam Aadmi and am in full
support of the revolutionizing move played by him.
Jai Hind!
