Mumbai 19th Oct 2016: To a generation of Indians, Chinese Kung Fu films were a novelty which they could relate to their childhood movie experience. To refresh these memories, India China Film Society along with China Film Association, for the first time ever is presenting ‘China Film Week’ in Mumbai. The Film festival will showcase some of the popular and award winning modern Chinese Movies. The film festival will be inaugurated at Sun City (Vile Parle) on 21st October 2016. The festival will continue atLittle Theater, NCPA from 22nd to 25th October 2016. Mr. Kishore Jawade, Chairperson ICFS said “It has been an honour to bring award winning Chinese Movies to India. It will be a different experience to the Mumbai audiences to witness movies which weren’t released in India”.
China Film Association will be strongly represented by Mr.Xu Bailin, Head of China Film Association, Mr An Zhanjun (Director of The Unexpected), Ms Guo Ge, Actress (Through Stunning Storms), Mr Guo Wei (Director Int’l Liaison Dept CFA) and Mr Jiao Hongfen (Chairman China group Corporation). Also attending the China Film Festival will be Mr Kiyomichi Funyu (General Secretary Japan Film Association) and Ms Misuzu Komine (Japan Film Association). Consul-General of the People's Republic of China in Mumbai Mr. ZHENG Xiyuan and Mrs. Li Fanghui, Culture Consul. The Inaugural Ceremony will also see the screening of the movie ‘ Through Stunning Storms’ at 6.30 pm.
The Film Festival will showcase movies like Chinese Zodiac, Monkey King-Hero is back, Monster Hunt, The Unexpected, Miss Granny, If you are the One-2, Money On the Road, Through Stunning Storms. Highlights among the movies, Chinese Zodiac an all out action film starring the ever popular Superstar Jackie Chan who has also directed the movie, Ms Granny is a story of a woman turning younger when she visits a photo studio. The movie is directed by Leste Chen, stars Yang Zishan, Grace Guei Bolin Chen Lu Han. The Unexpected is a multi award winning movie, which is a story of love and hatred directed by An Zhanjun, Monkey King: Hero is Back is a fictional story about monkeys, trolls and Evil Kings. These movies are an eclectic mix of action, romance, drama. They showcase the wide range of talented Chinese Directors, who created a niche for themselves in Chinese Movie Industry. Mr.Xu Bailin, Head of China Film Association, further adds, “The cultural exchange between India and China is important for the relations between the 2 countries The movies shown at the Film fest will be a treat to the audiences and get to experience Chinese movie culture.

India China Film Society is recently formed film association which will be helping Indian Audiences connect with wonderful foreign films. Headed by Mr Prakash Rahule and Mr. Kishore Jawade, ICFS aims to bring together India and China to promote cultural exchange and business relations. China Film Festival will be graced by Honorable Ministry of Information Broadcasting, Chief Minister of Maharashtra and celebrities from Hindi & Marathi Film fraternity.
