(CRI) Steven Spielberg's new film "The Big Friendly Giant," or BFG, will hit Chinese theatres today.
The movie was adapted from a 1982 children's book written by Roald Dahl, which follows an orphaned girl named Sophie, who make friends with the Big Friendly Giant. Together, they fight other giants who eat children.
Earlier this week, Steven Spielberg was in Beijing, attending a press conference to promote his work.
"But this was a very special story for me, because this is a book that I read to all of my children, all seven of them. So this book has been in my heart for many years, long before I ever decided to make it into a movie."
Renowned Chinese actor Huang Lei and his 10-year old daughter, Aarif Lee, dubbed the movie into Chinese.
