On January 5, 2024, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde attended the opening concert organized on the occasion of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The event took place at the Centre for Fine Arts - Bozar in Brussels. On January 1, 2024, Belgium took over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Every six months, one of the 27 Member States of the EU occupies the role of president of the Council of the EU.
