On Tuesday 10 May, Queen Máxima opened the ARTIS-Groote Museum in Amsterdam. The national monument ARTIS-Groote Museum that was built in 1855 is the oldest museum building in Amsterdam. The Groote Museum was closed to the public in 1947 but has been recently renovated. Together with the collections exhibited in the park, the museum seeks to create awareness of the relationship between man and nature.
