On November 15, 2021, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia attended the 250th anniversary event of The Royal Society of Naval Sciences (Kungliga Örlogsmannasällskapet, KOMS) at Grand Hotel in Stockholm. The aim of The Royal Society of Naval Sciences is to promote the development of naval sciences and of maritime matters in general for the benefit of Sweden. The Society was founded in 1771 by King Gustav III.
