On October 28, as an UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador since 1997, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa attended a meeting at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, in the presence of Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO. In 1997, the Grand Duchess became a special ambassador for UNESCO, who are working to expand education opportunities for young girls and women and to help fighting poverty. During this meeting of UNESCO Goodwill Ambassadors, the ambassadors discussed the activities they have carried out in different fields such as education, culture and the social and human sciences.
