(Xinhua) War epic film "The Battle at Lake Changjin" continued leading the Chinese mainland box office on Thursday, data from the China Movie Data Information Network showed Friday.
With daily revenue of 17.06 million yuan (about 2.67 million U.S. dollars), the film's total box office sales approached 5.37 billion yuan on Thursday after 29 days of screening.
The Chinese production was followed by "Dune," a British sci-fi film adapted from a homonymic novel written by Frank Herbert, which finished the day with 8.38 million yuan.
"Love After Love," a romance drama by Hong Kong director Ann Hui, grabbed the third spot with a daily box office of about 5.22 million yuan on Thursday.
