On September 21, 2021, King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima, accompanied by Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien, attended the annual Prinsjesdag (Prince's Day) at Grote Kerk in the Hague. Prinsjesdag is the day on which the opening of the Dutch Parliament takes place on the third Tuesday in September. On that day, the reigning monarch of the Netherlands traditionally gives a speech from the throne at a joint session of the Dutch Senate and House of Representatives.
