| On December 2, 2019, Queen Sonja of Norway visited Skien municipality to present "The Queen Sonja School Award" and presented the award to Stigeråsen School, which is the awardee school of 2019, with a ceremony held at the sports hall of the school. Queen Sonja’s School Award is awarded each year to a school that has demonstrated excellence in its efforts to promote inclusion and equality. The award focuses on schools that provide pupils with an academic, social and cultural fellowship. Queen Sonja School Award was first presented in 2006. |
