State visit of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima to Ireland

King Willem-Alexander of The Netherlands and Queen Maxima of The Netherlands are making a state visit to Ireland as the guests of Irish president Michael D Higgins. The visit takes place in Dublin and Cork from 12 to 14 June 2019. The state visit began in Dublin, where President Higgins and his wife, Sabina Higgins, received the King and Queen at Áras an Uachtaráin, the president’s official residence. Next, the King and Queen, in accordance with Irish tradition, planted a tree in the garden and ringed the Peace Bell. (Queen Maxima wore a outfit from Claes Iversen.)
