| On June 23, 2019, Queen Rania of Jordan visited the Kawon Bookshop in Madaba, a creative space known for promoting a culture of reading and encouraging youth innovation. Kawon Bookshop provides employment for local retirees by means of its cafe and social kitchen, which serve homemade baked foods and locally sourced teas. After a tour of the bookshop, The Queen visited Madaba Foundation for Development and Training, for a meeting with a number of local young people who are active in the fields of entrepreneurship, volunteerism, and social work. |
