(China Plus) Hong Kong actor Louis Koo's character has been tortured in every way imaginable in the upcoming film "Chasing The Dragon 2: Wild Wild Bunch".
Jing Wong is a co-director.
"He portrays the worst-tortured undercover agent in history,”said Wong“The undercover agents respectively played by Tony Leung Chiu-wai and Andy Lau are both casual and comfortable, without too much suffering. By contrast, Louis Koo has to suffer from beating, undergoing syringes with an inch-long needle as well as continuous attack with bombs. He was tortured by the rest of the cast. At the end, he shed tears."
Chasing The Dragon 2 is based on real-life crimes that terrorized Hong Kong in the 1990s. Logan, the leader of a notorious human trafficking gang, often made the children of Hong Kong's elite their abduction target.
Louis Koo portrays an undercover agent whose mission is to crack the gang. Tony Leung plays the gang leader. He disclosed at a promotional event on Monday that it is He who gave Louis Koo the worst strike.
"I mentally hurt him,” said Leung “I've been pretending to treat him as nicely as a member of my family. But in the end, I told Louis Koo I had known that he is actually an undercover agent. Hence, the mental torture is a lot more severe than inflicting him physical harm."
Though it's a sequel, Chasing The Dragon 2 tells a separate story.
The original centers on an illegal immigrant who later transforms himself into a ruthless and emerging drug lord.
The new movie will be in cinemas on Thursday.
