| On June 17, 2019, Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako attended the 109th Japan Academy Prize ceremony held at the Japan Academy Hall in Taito. The Imperial and Japan Academy Prizes are awarded to persons who have achieved notable research landmarks or who have authored particularly outstanding academic papers or books. For them, an award ceremony has been held every year since 1911. |
