Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako visited Aichi Prefecture

Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako are making a two-day visit to Aichi Prefecture, central Japan, to attend the 70th annual tree-planting festival, to be held in the city of Owariasahi in Aichi. On June 1, Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako arrived at Nagoya Station in Nagoya. Then, Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako visited the Shippo Art Museum in Ama city. The national tree-planting ceremony has been held since 1950 with the Emperor in attendance, at various locations across the country, to help raise public awareness of forest conservation.
