On June 15, 2019, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary visited the Danish Castle Centre in Vordingborg to celebrate the 800th anniversary of Dannebrog fall (Danish flag). Danish national historiography connects the introduction of the flag to the Battle of Lindanise of 1219. According to the legend the Danish flag fell down from the sky in the Battle of Lindanise, also known as the Battle of Valdemar, near Lindanise (Tallinn) in Estonia, of 15 June 1219. Presently in Tallinn the Danish King's Garden in Old Town is regarded as the place where the flag fell down, and it is marked with a memorial.
