| On May 9, 2019, Crown Princess Mary attended the 80th anniversary of the Hobro Christmas Seal Home in Hobro. Julemærkefonden (literally "The Christmas Seal Foundation") is a Danish charity that operates four so-called Christmas seal homes for children with social challenges. The charity issues an annual Christmas seal to finance its activities. The Hobro Christmas Seal Home was opened in May 1939. The Crown Princess is the patron of The Christmas Seal Foundation. Christmas seal homes provide temporary accommodation for children with excess weight or social problems like bullying and offer exercise facilities and psychological support to those children. |
