| On February 20, 2019, King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain attended the closing session of 2019 World Law Congress held at Madrid Royal Theater. At the closing session of the congress, King Felipe received The WJA World Peace & Liberty Award. The World Jurist Association (WJA) gave the World Peace & Liberty Award to the Spanish King because of his unwavering commitment to the Rule of Law, his role as a leader in the defense of Democracy and Liberty at the international level and his contributions to the strengthening of the constitutional model in Spain.
