Swedish Royal Family attended the rededication of the statue of King Karl XIV Johan

On December 16, 2018, Swedish Royal Family, that is, King Carl Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia attended the rededication of the statue of King Karl XIV Johan on Slottsbacken. After the death of King Karl XIV Johan, King Oskar I commissioned an equestrian statue depicting the entry of the crown prince into Stockholm in 1810. The statue was unveiled in 1854 at Slussen. As a result of reconstruction of the Slussen area, the statue has been moved to the Royal Palace of Stockholm and there, it has been renovated before its rededication.
