(China Daily) British singer-songwriter Sam Smith will make his Chinese debut with a show in Beijing's Cadillac Arena on Oct 25.
The Beijing concert is part of The Thrill of It All World Tour, which began in the UK this March, before moving on to 70 other cities across Europe, North America and Asia.
The 26-year-old singer-songwriter received a Guinness World Record when his 2014 debut album, In the Lonely Hour, remained in the top 10 of the British Official Albums Chart Top for 69 consecutive weeks. The album sold over 14 million copies worldwide and songs such as I'm Not The Only One, Stay with Me, and Lay Me Down established his fan base in China.
In 2015, he cemented his A-list status by winning four Grammy Awards including Song of the Year and Record of the Year. The accolades continued as, in 2016, he scored two Best Original Song awards at the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards with The Writing's On The Wall, the theme song of the James Bond blockbuster, Spectre.
According to AEG Presents, the live-entertainment division of Los Angeles-based AEG, which manages Smith's world tour, tickets for the Beijing show will go on sale June 7, while further dates and cities will be unveiled later.
