Pop diva Coco Lee readies "18" world tour

(CRI) Pop star Coco Lee officially announced her upcoming world tour in Shanghai on Tuesday, February 14, 2017.

The singer has named the tour "18," which is also the title of her latest single. Lee says the number 18 holds special significance for her, as she fell in love for the first time and also began her career at the age of 18.

The initial stops of the tour will include Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Nanjing, Wuhan, Chengdu and Xi'an, as well as Hong Kong and Taiwan. The North American leg of the tour will stop in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Toronto. Tickets for her show on May 6th in Shenzhen are already on sale.

Born in Hong Kong, Coco Lee moved to the US with her family at the age of nine. Since her debut album in 1994, she has achieved massive success and become an icon of Chinese pop music. Back in 2001, she became the first Chinese artist ever to perform on the Oscar stage when she sang the theme song "A Love Before Time" of movie "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon."

She came back on the small screen last year when she participated in the popular musical reality-TV show "I Am a Singer" on Hunan TV, where she was voted by the audience as their favorite performer of the season.
