(Toggle) Hong Kong power couple Carina Lau and Tony Leung have been together for 28 years, but are still as loving as ever. The couple was already living together for more than a decade before they got married nine years ago, which left fans and media wondering about the reason behind their decision to wed since they were already living like a married couple.
The 51 year-old actress finally disclosed the reason during an episode of Chinese variety show, Familiar Taste. “I didn’t want to have regrets,” she said.
Carina was afraid that she would regret not tying the knot with Tony, because she realised that “life is fleeting” after her father passed away. She also didn’t want the actor’s mother to miss an opportunity to witness her son’s wedding.
The movie starlet also shared that the 54 year-old actor is a very thoughtful spouse as he had once taken care of her singlehandedly for three whole days when she broke her arm on set. She was also deeply moved by his gesture when he suggested to retire from the entertainment scene with her, at the peak of his career, just so she could take a break.
Fans of the two have also applauded them for being a sweet couple even after being together for such a long time.
The couple have also worked together in Wong Kar Wai movies Days of Being Wild and Ashes of Time.
