Boonie Bears' 4th sequel to come at the Lunar New Year

(CRI) The latest reboot of the Chinese animation franchise 'Boonie Bear' is to hit theatres on Jan 28, the first day of the Lunar New Year.

The "Boonie Bears" film is based on the animated series of the same name, which was first shown in 2012 and later became the most popular children's show in China.

The film adaptations have also become the highest grossing domestic animation franchise in China.

The story features two bears, Briar and Bramble, who try to stop Logger Vick from destroying their forest home.

But the upcoming 4th installment "Boonie Bears: Entangled World" has combined live actors with animated figures together with facial capture technology.

China's sports star left-handed badminton player Bao Chunlai portrays a villain in the movie.

"This is my maiden experience to portray a character in an animation. Since the movie is shot with digital environments or green screen techniques, I had to really use my imagination and pretend I was acting in various types of landscapes, including mountains, rivers and with humans, etc."

Boonie Bears: Entangled Worlds will be released in both 2D and 3D.
