Phoenix Legend will bid farewell to 2016 with a concert

(China Daily) Phoenix Legend, one of China's hottest pop music bands, will hold a concert on the last day of 2016.

Started from Guangdong's provincial capital Guangzhou in 1998, the duo — rapper Zeng Yi and singer Linghua — rose to fame with their songs blending indigenous melodies with rap and dance beats.

During their upcoming show, the duo will work with the 220-year-old Tauride Symphony Orchestra (St. Petersburg, Russia) under the baton of conductor Mikhail Golikov, remixing some of their popular hits, including The Most Dazzling Ethnic Trend.

The song is popular among migrant and white-collar workers, children and retirees and was even played at the Houston Toyota Center during the intermission of a Houston Rockets game. It also became an internet sensation after being remixed by fans across the world.

So far, the duo has released six albums, which sold more than 6 million copies in China since 2005, and 10 songs from their four albums have recorded 1 billion online hits.
