Nidri Beach in Lefkada (Greece): Chilling Out at Sailinn Beach Club

Our least favourite beach in this Lefkada summer beach island holiday was our home beach base – Nidri Beach (Nydri Beach).

I made a separate entry earlier about this beach here: The Beach in Nydri

So this means that we never really spent a lot of time here at Nidri Beach. We went somewhere else each time, every single day. But on our last day in the island we decided to not go that far and gave Nidri Beach a chance.

The issue with going to this beach is the parking. But we managed to find one along the road near Sailinn Beach Club where we will be chilling out the whole afternoon. We didn’t know that the sunbeds here were free so we were very delighted when we see the ‘Free Sunbeds for our Customers’ poster.

So a day of doing nothing really at the beach. I ordered a Pina Colada cocktail which turned out to have a lot of alcohol in it, it had me blushing the whole afternoon. I tried reading the ‘Het Slechte Pad’ book (‘Career of Evil’ in English) by Robert Galbraithe (pseudonym of JK Rowling) but it was just so dragging, until now I have not finished the book! That is a pity because I can devour a thick book in just a matter of days. A day even if I am not doing anything =)

The nice thing with lounging here at Sailinn Beach Club, well apart from the free sunbeds and very good cocktails, is the view to the islands and mainland Greece. It’s just nice for a change to see something in the horizon with the occasional yacht and sailboats passing by.

Beside the beach club is a rental boat which ferried a few people to and fro the islands and to other shores in Lefkada. I have thought of renting a small boat for a day but the Dutchman isn’t really a boat person, so we never really did it. Perhaps next time!

Lots of events going on at Sailinn Beach Club in the summer.

It was not busy at all! Well, June is not really peak season yet, which is the reason why we prefer enjoying our island holiday in June. Less crowd and not too expensive month.

Enjoying my lots of alcohol concocted in this Pina Colada cocktail. This was very good though, and as you can see in the picture below, I am blushing, haha.

The lovely view of the islands. Behind this small island (sihouette behind) is Scorpio island, the island used to be owned by the Onassis family, now by a Russian tycoon, Rybolovlev. Well, he gave it to his daughter.

The occasional view, sailboats passing by.

The Dutch mother is also chilling out here at Sailinn.

Boat rentals at this beach shack beside the beach club.
